More hot days...
Spending the whole day shifting hoses around, bucketing water on pots, and picking flowers for the house vases is a valid day in the garden? Maybe? Almost? Why not! We've now had a succession of big-heat December days (late twenties Celsius), and the patio pots (potatoes, tomatoes, lettuces, pelargoniums) get watered twice a day.
Patio Pelargoniums
Today's garden plans :
- Put hoses on Hydrangeas in Pond Paddock.
- Retire my sad, shrivelled, potted collection of succulents. They do not bring me joy.
- Pond Paddock Garden forget-me-nots removed, please.
Later, lunchtime...
I remember now. Hot summer days, even when gardening in the shade, are hot. Two hours is about the maximum for a happy session.
Orlaya
I've been in the Pond Paddock Gardens, and am covered in biddi-bids. OK. It's time to shift the hoses and get back out there. Hat, sunscreen, water bottle. I can do this!
Two hours later...
Great work - the garden is desperately dry, but my little hoses are doing their best. More forget-me-nots are out, and now I'm watering the garden where the Paris daisies grow. Found more bags of leaf mould, so tipped the contents onto the edge of the garden. Nice!
Mess in the Pond Paddock
There is so much to do, though, and I've left all my mess on the grass. Too hot, I am.
