Molineux Rose

Molineux Rose
Either the books and the label are both wrong, or my nose isn't working any more. I can't smell any scent on this beautiful yellow David Austin rose, though I'm assured it has a strong tea rose fragrance.
Molineux is also taller than the rose books predict, but I'm used to David Austin roses reaching for the New Zealand sky. It's a softer, more lemony colour than the famous David Austin yellow rose called Graham Thomas.
Oops...
I have an embarrassing story to tell about this rose. It was one of my earliest purchases, and somehow I got it totally mixed up with Golden Celebration. Even my photographs were wrongly named, for years. Then one lucky day while weeding I found a rose label still attached to the bottom of the stem. Oops.
So I proudly changed the information in my rose-pages, but, adding insult to injury, I spelt its proper name incorrectly. Oops again! Molineux - I hope I'm forgiven!

I only have one of these roses, and it grows in a relatively shady garden area near the glass-house. This doesn't seem to affect things at all. Phew!
