Just too wet...

The long Easter weekend has been misty and moist - not cold, silver rather than grey. But a succession of dripping rain and drizzle days, too wet for pleasant gardening experiences.

Minimus my Cottage Cat

So I've started my new jigsaw of the Dolomites (another place I wish I'd experienced for real), organised more music on my iPad (Bach's Partitas, French and English Suites, Albeniz' Iberia, Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit). Typical me - some very difficult stuff.

Easter music...

I've been out singing Easter music (St John's Passion, Mozart's Coronation Mass) and visiting family. My friend has lent me her spare Apple pen to annotate Le Gibet (Ravel). I can hear the harmonies that are coming but can my fingers see them in the score or find them on the piano keys? No way!

Cat news...

The second cat shirt that I ordered online has arrived. Miaow! Pretty silly, but colourful. Now I have two cat shirts to balance my three dog shirts, hee hee.

Speckles (my beautiful mackerel tabby stray) has slept in his snuggly cat-box for the last five nights now. Soooooo sweet! And he's been incredibly smoochy - AKA incredibly well-fed?

And Foxie?

A few nights, ago Foxie (my ginger and white stray) actually communicated with me. He sat in the Agapanthus by the large gnome, looking very fat and relaxed, while I stood on the verandah in the light and sweet-talked to him. He didn't run away. No huge, scared eyes either. Wow! Progress.

So my garden is totally damp, dripping greenery, wet paths and lawns, drizzle. Things are still very green. C'mon autumn - give me some of your famous fiery reds! Giving thanks for the Dogwoods.

Dogwood Leaves

I've wandered around each day and come back inside feeling more and more disconnected. It's just been too wet. Aargh! Today I noticed that the giant reed by Car Bridge is a total mess. Another of my 'I shouldn't have planted that's?
