Beautiful autumn days...

Am enjoying some beautiful autumn days. Yellow leaves are fluttering down from the Gleditsia tree. The dahlias I dead-headed are still flowering madly again. Dead-heading works. Yes, it truly does.

The big Gleditsia turning colour, leaves dropping.
April in my Driveway

Back home after singing Mozart with a car boot full of Agapanthus clumps. They were sitting by the side of the road, free to take. Very exciting! After dividing, they are all going in the Welcome Garden. But first - burn the trailer-load of mess.

Later...

And that's all I had time and energy for. But I brought out all the mess from the Pump House as well. Then I had a bowl of chocolate ice cream (with sauce) and went on a Montenegro train. Beautiful scenery, lots of tunnels, so relaxing that I fell asleep.

 Flowering side by side.

Monday 7th April

It's a particularly beautiful day today because I'm having a break from the bonfire. Have been sitting down on the Driveway Lawn dividing up the two huge clumps of Agapanthus. Must have about eighty sturdy divisions. Has taken me nearly three hours.

The species, perfect for a difficult, dry area.
Agapnthus Divisions

Intended garden location : the Welcome Garden. Tools of choice - just two, rather varied, hee hee :

One hour later, and all are planted. Hopefully tomorrow it will rain to help them along - not that Agapanthus need that much help.

I need to bucket in some mulch,to stop the weeds from growing in between the plants.
The Agapanthus is Planted

Am very proud of myself because - ahem - I almost decided to plant them tomorrow. And that might have turned into the day after, and so on.

Tuesday 8th April

Today I am very happy, because yes - it has been raining on the Agapanthus. I am doodling around inside reading books, doing my jigsaw, having cups of tea and coffee, and so on.

We go for a dog-walk every hour to say hello to the garden and take more photographs of the dahlias. Same dahlias as last time. I have my favourites.
