Zepherine Drouhin Rose
A nearly thornless, old fashioned pink rose - yeay! Welcome to Zephirine Drouhin, a gentle climbing Bourbon who drapes herself modestly over the old fence in my back lawn garden.
A useful rose...
She is such a useful rose to grow, and gives no problems with sulking, or bullying other plants. There's just a touch of black spot on her leaves from time to time (I don't spray them). Her flowers are a beautiful deep rose-pink, fragrant, with lots of petals, giving her that ruffled, fluffy look. The nurseries say she doesn't mind partial shade.
Zepherine Drouhan Roses
They also agree with me that she is very 'useful'. A rather dull adjective for this pink beauty who flowers on and off for absolutely ages.
Zepherine Drouhin was developed back in 1868 by the French rose breeder Bizot. She's named after the wife of a contemporary rose enthusiast.
