New Year Resolutions for 2025
Oops. Needs must. I need to organise my New Year's Resolutions. Let me think - what was last year's? Probably 'Finish what I've started'.
Finish what I've started
Yes, it was - I've just checked. I can definitely recycle that one. Done. Just a small technicality - does this mean I have to finish something this year which I started last year, or the year before that?
Wheelbarrow and Line of Messes
Because that could make things interesting. A garden is never completely finished, after all...
Be nicer to Pebbles the dog
How about one for the animals? I'm always nice to the house cats and to Minimus my cottage cat. I spend a lot of quality time with darling Winnie (whose arthritis makes her as wobbly as me). And I provide good food and company (if requested) for two stray cats.
Pebbles and an Angel
I know - 'Be nicer to Pebbles the dog.' Then she might be nicer to me, learn to love me more, and not bark rudely in my face. Oh, really?
Talk to NGP about non-gardening topics
I must talk to Non-Gardening Partner more. About non-gardening topics. It can always be the cats and dogs, if I can't think of anything else. Right?
Brush my hair every day
And I resolve to have tangle-free hair throughout 2025. I plait or pony-tail my hair, so I have no idea how it gets messy, but that's really no excuse.
Me and NGP
Just one more, if that's OK. It applies to many things on all sorts of levels throughout the year, but particularly to the garden. The big things are easy to see and process - for example, over-size Phormiums which need trimming. But bending down to remove one little weed also matters, yes? In life as well as in the garden.
Care for the little things
All organised. But I'm sensing a slight lack of commitment and confidence. So that could be my final resolution, right? 'Commit with confidence to my New Years Resolutions for 2025'. Will do.
